Time flies, and your children grow up faster than you can imagine. Mums, you're usually the ones behind the camera, not in front of it. Let's change that. Let's capture this precious moment in time, all of you together.

Our family photography sessions are all about being natural and having fun. I capture authentic interactions between you and your family while we explore the great outdoors in a relaxed, nurturing atmosphere. It's a time to forget about how you look, not worry if everyone is looking at the camera, and just enjoy playing games and spending quality time with your loved ones. It's a moment for us to create beautiful keepsakes for you to cherish and look back on for years to come.

With my many years of experience working with children, including teaching in a primary school, I know how to encourage kids to be themselves and explore the world around them. This leads to genuine smiles and expressions that truly capture the essence of your family.

Let’s celebrate your amazing family

We offer three different collections for our family sessions. You can choose your collection when you book, or you can upgrade when you see your images. To secure your session, we require a £95 booking fee, with the remainder of your collection fee to be paid before your photography session.

Before your family session, we will have a chat to discuss the location, outfits, and timing of the day. During your family session, we'll spend approximately 90 minutes exploring the location, playing games, having fun, and capturing photographs. You will then receive an online gallery to choose from, typically around 1-2 weeks later.

Please take a look at our collections below and fill in the contact form to start the conversation.

Answers:

Our family sessions are for one family unit.
If you would like to include other family units in your session, like grand parents, cousins or best friends, don't hesitate to book a call and we can discuss this further. When having multiple family units in a session we like to allow a little bit more time to ensure that we capture all the images that we would like to without being rushed and tight for time. Therefore, we charge an additional £100 for each family unit and 30 minutes that we add onto the session.

Answers:

That is 100% up to you.
We would always recommend to bring at least one other outfit of clothing. Not necessarily to change into during the session, but as a back up contingency plan just in case your children fall over in a puddle and get muddy (unless of course you are incredibly happy for muddy photographs!). We also love it when families bring items special to them to include in the photographs. Whether that is a super special teddy or blanket (or handkerchief in my case as a child ... who knows why!), or a precious photo or a special someone that you would like included, bring it along and we will do our best to include it in some of the photos.
During the session we will also do a variety of standing up, sitting down and lying down positions so if you don't want to sit or lie on the floor, don't hesitate to bring a blanket with you.
And lastly, we don't like calling them bribes, but we would always recommend bringing along lots of snacks and drinks!

Answers:

We keep our family sessions light hearted, fun and engaging. For the most part, we will be encouraging the children to explore the area around them, engage with you and letting everyone just relax and be in the natural environment. We will do a few specific family portraits too with everyone close together and we use games and fun activities during this time to keep the children engaged and genuine expressions on their faces rather than fake smiles. (We love things like tickle games and 'find the ___ on Daddy's face' etc.)

When is the best time to book my family session?

Answers:

Unfortunately this is often something we have to deal with! After all, we live in England. So firstly, don't worry about it, it happens and we will happily rearrange if need be.
When we book your photography session in initially, we always book in two different photoshoot dates. The first date is the main date that we will be aiming for. The second date is our back up date if it is raining on the first date. By booking in two different sessions early on we both know that we will have enough space in our diary and that hopefully at least one of those sessions will work! However, we are always happy to rearrange if it is raining.
The week before the photography session we will be in touch about the weather once we know the seven day forecast. We will then make a decision 24-48 hours before the photo session is due to take place. If we decide to go ahead with the initial date, we will continue to monitor the weather and will make the final decision no later than two hours before the photo session.

Short answer? The location of your photography session is completely up to you!
While preparing for your session we discuss the types of locations and vibe that you would love to have in your photos. We will then happily send over a few locations as suggestions for you to choose from, or alternatively, if you have a favourite place that you would love your photoshoot to take place in, let us know and we can check it out.
Our session price includes travel up to 25 miles from BA2 8DJ. We are more than happy to travel further than this, but this will be charged at 50p per mile and invoiced before the session.

This is completely up to you :)
We have a limited number of weekend and evening sessions available. If you have a specific time of day or date in mind, the earlier that you can contact us and book your session date in the better. When booking your session, we always discuss the ages of your children and their routine and then try to work out the best time for the happiest family. Where possible, we try to not photograph over midday, and especially not in the summer and the sun can create some very harsh, unflattering shadows at this time of day. The most beautiful lighting is just after sunrise and just before sunset.

Answers:

It is best to book your maternity session as soon as you decide that you would like one! The ideal time to photograph your beautiful bump is between 32 and 35 weeks pregnant. The sooner we are able to book this session in the diary, the sooner you have something to look forward to and the more flexible we are able to be with our availability. Most of our mums book in at around their 20 week scan when they book their newborn session.

Our maternity photography experience lasts around 90 minutes, but we allow for two hours in the studio diary. This gives us plenty of time for a few different outfit changes and for you to settle in to the session. If you are having hair and make up done before the session, we will book this in 1 hour before the photography session is due to start.

If you would like more than 6 people to be included in your session this will be priced upon request.

Alternatively, if you would like your maternity session to be just for you and your bump, don't hesitate to let us know. Our intimate photography experience is a beautiful celebration of you and your pregnancy.

We have a few different dresses and materials that are available for you to use during your maternity session if you would like. Around four weeks before your photography session we will arrange a call where we will discuss and plan the outfits we will use during your photoshoot. These can be our dresses and fabrics, your outfits from your own wardrobe or a mixture of the two.

Before your photography session we will discuss with you the outfits you are thinking of bringing and also the level of undress that you feel comfortable with during the session. We want you to feel completely relaxed and comfortable during your photography session and so will support you every step of the way.

Your maternity photography session is your opportunity to pamper yourself before your baby is born. It is a celebration of you and the miracle of the precious new life growing within! We thoroughly recommend taking the opportunity to really pamper yourself. We can highly recommend a couple of professional Hair and Make Up Artists who we work with on a regular basis. Or, if you would prefer, you can hire your own and they are very welcome to come and help you get ready in our home studio.

If you would like to use one of our recommended Make Up Artists, let us know and we will arrange it for you. It will cost an additional £65 to cover your hair and make up. This also includes them being around for the whole of your photography session to ensure that you look your beautiful best for the whole session.

Yes! We love to incorporate your special props into our sessions. We always encourage you to bring along an ultrasound image of your baby (preferably in a small frame) and some cute little booties or shoes. You could also bring a special soft toy or newborn outfit that you would love included in your photographs.

If you are having an outdoor maternity session and know the gender of your baby, you might like to bring along some colour coded helium balloons!

The majority of our maternity photography sessions take place in our home studio, just outside of Bath in Peasedown St John.

However, if you would prefer your session to take place outside, in a location of your choice, do let us know! We love photographing outside in the natural light just as much as indoors. We will travel up to 15 miles included in your session fee (additional travel is charged at 45p per mile). If you have a special location in mind, just let us know.

We will book your maternity session to take place between weeks 32 and 35 of your pregnancy. Ideally your maternity session will take place on a weekday in the afternoon but we know that this isn't always possible. We do have some flexibility around evenings and weekends but these do get booked up pretty quickly so do give us a call!
